Dozens of senior corporate executives — including many with close tied to Hollywood and the media business — endorsed vice president Kamala Harris in an open letter released Friday morning.
“Her election is the best way to support the continued strength, security, and reliability of our democracy and economy,” the letter states. “With Kamala Harris in the White House, the business community can be confident that it will have a President who wants American industries to thrive.”
The letter was signed by 88 high-profile business figures, many of whom are well known to the entertainment world.
Among them are James Murdoch, the son of Rupert Murdoch and the former CEO of 21st Century Fox; IAC founder Barry Diller; Dreamworks founder Jeffrey Katzenberg; former Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes; former Sony Pictures chairman Michael Lynton; Shark Tank star and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban; SpringHill CEO Maverick Carter, Lakers legend Magic Johnson; TCG founder and former Fox COO Peter Chernin; LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman; Monumental Sports & Entertainment CEO Ted Leonsis; former Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, Emerson Collective CEO Laurene Powell Jobs; and Napster founder Sean Parker.
Harris has made appealing to the business community a priority, especially with many high-profile figures in the tech community (like Elon Musk) opting to support former President Donald Trump, forging something of a Hollywood vs. Silicon Valley battle.
