LA3C Festival Returns for Weekend of Music and Culture in Downtown Los Angeles

Penske Media’s culture and creativity festival LA3C returns this weekend for its second year of celebrating of music, art and food in downtown Los Angeles.

Last year‘s two-day fest featured performances from Lil Baby, Snoop Dogg, Maluma and Seventeen, and this year’s iteration will see Erykah Badu and Herbie Hancock serve as headliners and expand to three days of events. The festival will take over downtown’s Theatre at the Ace Hotel, Los Angeles Theatre, Orpheum Theatre and Palace Theatre, as well as several surrounding lots to showcase art and food vendors. LA3C will kick off on Friday with Flying Lotus at the Ace Hotel, Fred Armisen at the Palace, Kamasi Washington at the Los Angeles Theatre and Dan the Automator at Marketplace on Main; on Saturday, Badu will play the Orpheum, Robert Glasper will be at the Ace Hotel, Nick Hakim at the Palace, JammJam will be at the Los Angeles Theatre, and Questlove will play Marketplace on Main. Sunday will close out with Hancock at the Ace Hotel, Marc Rebillet at the Palace, Blaq Pages and Foreigner at Marketplace on Main and a mini film fest at the Orpheum.

Other performers will include Sudan Archives, Lonnie Holley, Aja Monet, Pauli the PSM, Novena Carmel, Shabazz Palaces, Yrsa Daley-Ward with The Josh Craig, Acyde, Siobhan Bell, Kilo Kish, Salami Rose Joe Louis and Def Rain along with pop-up performances by Feels Like Floating. For the food portion of the festival, Marketplace on Main will serve as a curated culinary village of chefs and concepts from across L.A., open to all GA and VIP festival ticket holders from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Vendors will include A’s BBQ, Baryo, Bee Taqueria, Bridgetown Roti, Bub & Grandma’s, Campo é Carbón, DTLA Cheese, EK’ Balam, Estrano x Pearl River Deli, Hotville Chicken, iiiMas, LA Burg, Leonardo’s Pasta Bar by Chef Steven Trujillo, Loam, Mama, Ozi’s Kitchen, Quarters Korean BBQ x Marinate, Rubie, Sidepie, Simón Seafood, Soosh!, Speak Cheezy Pizza, Standstill Tea x Wendy Zeng, Turkish Breakfast Club, Wanderlust Creamery, Valerie Confections and Yum Sະlut.

Drinks will be served by Thunderbolt, Crowns & Hops Beer, 1010 Wine & Events, Canyon Coffee and Happy Friday Coffee by Pure Espresso. DJ sets and culinary programming will join the dining pop-ups, which have been curated by Biite Club, throughout the weekend.

LA3C will additionally include a Bazaar on Broadway, featuring Black Market Flea, which highlights businesses and creatives in the Black businesses community. There will also be an open-air record fair and listening zone courtesy of In Sheep’s Clothing, with more than a dozen labels and record vendors. The bazaar will be open from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. each day of the festival.

Tickets are available here for both one-day and weekend passes. The Los Angeles Community Action Network is LA3C’s official nonprofit partner, and a portion of all ticket sales will benefit the organization.
