Kamala Harris Accepts Second Presidential Debate Against Donald Trump

Kamala Harris has accepted another presidential debate against Donald Trump.

The vice president took to her X (formerly Twitter) account to note that she is ready to take the stage again — this time on CNN.

“I will gladly accept a second presidential debate on October 23,” she wrote. “I hope @realDonaldTrump will join me.”

Her campaign chair, Jen O’Malley Dillon, released a statement about the debate, noting in part that, “The American people deserve another opportunity to see Vice President Kamala Harris and Donald Trump debate before they cast their ballots. It would be unprecedented in modern history for there to just be one general election debate. Debates offer a unique chance for voters to see the candidates side by side and take stock of their competing visions for America.”

Like the first 2024 presidential debate, which was between President Joe Biden and Trump, this one would take place at CNN’s studios in Atlanta.

The former president previously posted on Truth Social that “THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE” after the Sept. 10 one hosted by ABC in Philadelphia. However, according to CNN, he told reporters during a campaign stop in California earlier this week that he would consider debating Harris again “if I got in the right mood.”

The format of the October debate would follow a similar format to the previous ones, running for 90 minutes without a live studio audience.

Harris’ running mate Tim Walz is set to debate Trump’s vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance on Oct. 1 from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. ET on CBS News.

Vice President Harris is ready for another opportunity to share a stage with Donald Trump, and she has accepted CNN’s invitation to a debate on October 23. Donald Trump should have no problem agreeing to this debate. It is the same format and setup as the CNN debate he attended and said he won in June, when he praised CNN’s moderators, rules, and ratings.

We look forward to Vice President Harris again having the opportunity in the CNN debate to show her command of the issues and why it’s time to turn the page on Donald Trump and chart a new way forward for America.
