In Her ‘Jeopardy!’ Era: Taylor Swift Takes Over Every Category & Swifties Approve

On Wednesday night’s (Jan. 24) of Jeopardy!, Taylor Swift did what she does best: She took over. Song titles and references to the pop superstar inspired every category in the first round of the latest “Champions Wildcard” episode.

The categories included “Love Story,” “Our Song,” “Bad Blood,” “Shake It Off,” “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and, finally, “The Errors Tour.” The first five categories are all titles of Swift’s hit songs — including three of her Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers, “Bad Blood,” “Shake It Off” and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” — while the final one is in reference to her blockbuster The Eras Tour, which picks back up next month in Japan.

The Taylor inspiration ended with the category titles, though: The questions were not, in fact, Swift-related. But that didn’t hamper Swifties’ enjoyment of the game show’s shout-out.

“Every single Jeopardy category (name) is Taylor swift related, they did this for me,” one X user wrote, while another parodied the negative reactions to Swift infiltrating the NFL thanks to her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce: “‘oh ew gross even jeopardy is being ruined by Taylor Swift’ – some idiot.”

This isn’t the first time Swift has been featured on Jeopardy! On a Celebrity Jeopardy! episode last year, there was an entire category of Swift-related questions called “Also a Taylor Swift Song.” And in the summer of 2022, there was a seemingly simple question about Swift’s Lover single “You Need to Calm Down” that Swifties were stunned went unanswered. “HOW COULD NO ONE KNOW THE ANSWER!?!” one viewer wondered.
