I’m Obsessed With Loafers—5 Outfits I’ll Be Recreating With the Preppy Shoe

I’m normally a heels person but for some reason I am finding myself really leaning into flat shoes this fall and winter. I’m not sure my feet are just tired from a summer of strappy sandals and high heels but it’s safe to say that for me, it’s a flat shoe fall. One shoe has been calling out to me in particular: loafers. Loafers are a fashion person must have, and can take many outfits from boring to elevated in the blink of an eye.

This fall I wanted to make sure I had loafer styling down, which involved hunting for tons of loafer centric outfits and picking out which ones I must recreate for this fall and winter. I ended up with 5 winners that are total compliment magnets, and what kind of friend would I be if I kept them to myself?

You can thank me later, keep scrolling to see the 5 ways I’ll be styling loafers next.

Button Front Cardigan + Jeans + Handbag

There is something about the simplicity of this outfit that I just love. It looks casual while still being polished and stylish. The off white color of the loafers really elevates this look if you ask me. I have a pair of off white ones myself and have been wearing them non stop, as well as seeing them all over my instagram this fall. I highly recommend getting your hands on a pair before the end of November.

Shearling Jacket + Tights + Mini Skirt

I’m saving this outfit for a day time outting this fall. I love the cozy vibe of the shearling jacket paired with the firty nature of a mini skirt, plus the tights really take this look from casual to chic. I’m obsessed.

Mini Skirt + Ankle Socks + Trench Coat

I have to say the pairing of ankle socks and loafers is really growing on me this season. I adore the way Sophie Suchan styled hers with a mini skirt and long leather coat, adding a bit of a cool factor to this outfit. You can also add tights with this outfit if it’s already too cold for exposed legs.

Oversized Blazer + Trouser + Scarf + Sunglasses

This outfit works for the office or the weekend. In fact it’s my office day tomorrow and I think I might recreate this look. Don’t forget the scarf and sunglasses, the accessory really make this one.

Turtleneck sweater + Jeans + Leather Bag

This classic sweater and jeans outfit looks so good with loafers, it’s a no brainer. You can file this outfit under: wear basically anywhere. It works for a travel day, happy hour, running into your office, where ever you’re off to- this one works.
