Kenan Thompson has been thriving since his child star days, but it’s nice to see Kel Mitchell at the forefront, as he is and has always been a comedic genius. Dexter has always been the straight man to Ed’s out-of-pocket madness, and seeing the dynamic on-screen once again feels like a warm embrace. Thompson and Mitchell have been teasing the film’s sequel for many years, reuniting for a “Good Burger” sketch on “The Tonight Show” in 2015, Mitchell reprising the role of Ed on the “All That” revival in 2019, and a sketch yet again when Thompson hosted the Emmys in 2022.
“Good Burger 2” is co-produced by Mitchell and Thompson and the duo is joined by Lil Rel Howery, Jillian Bell, Kamaia Fairburn, Alex R. Hibbert, Fabrizio Guido, Elizabeth Hinkler, Emily Hinkler, Anabel Graetz, and returning “All That” cast members Josh Server and Lori Beth Denberg. Additionally, Carmen Electra will also reprise her role as Roxanne from the first film. Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert, who co-wrote the original film and worked on “All That,” served as writers and executive producers on the sequel. James III is also a writer on the film with Phil Traill (“The Middle,” “Fresh Off the Boat,” “Single Drunk Female”) serving as director.
“Good Burger 2” will stream exclusively on Paramount+ this fall with an official release date yet to be announced.
