Bon Jovi Docuseries ‘Thank You, Goodnight’ Set to Premiere on Hulu

As Bon Jovi celebrate their 40th year as one of the world’s most successful rock bands, the history of the group will be explored in Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, a four-part docuseries that will debut April 26 on Hulu.

Religion of Sports’ Gotham Chopra will helm the doc, which is being made with the cooperation of all past and present members of the band and chronicles Bon Jovi’s rise from New Jersey clubs to global stadium headliners, recounting all the triumphs and toils along the way, including departures of founding members: the late bassist Alec John Such and guitarist Richie Sambora.

The band, which was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2018, has landed 11 albums in the top 10 of the Billboard 200, including chart-toppers Slippery When Wet, New Jersey, Lost Highway and This House is Not for Sale. The band has also scored four Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s, “You Give Love a Bad Name,” “Livin’ on a Prayer,” “Bad Medicine” and “I’ll Be There for You.”

The film will also highlight frontman Jon Bon Jovi’s philanthropic work with the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, which addresses homelessness, poverty and food insecurity, as well as JBJ Soul Kitchen, a non-profit community restaurant with four locations in New Jersey.

Chopra has worked on several noteworthy programs on such famed athletes as  Tom Brady (Tom v. Time and Man in the Arena), Kobe Bryant (Kobe Bryant’s Muse), Lebron James (Shut Up and Dribble), Stephen Curry (Stephen v. The Game) and  Simone Biles (Simone v. Herself).

In addition to Hulu in the U.S., the documentary will also air on Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ in other territories with premiere dates to be announced.

Bon Jovi’s 40th-anniversary celebration will kick off Feb. 2 when Jon Bon Jovi is honored at the annual MusiCares dinner two nights before the Grammys.
