Addison Rae Makes a Cameo in ‘Flashdance’ Inspired Nerds Super Bowl Ad

For Addison Rae, Nerds Gummy Clusters are “2 Die 4.”

The actress and TikTok star makes a cameo in the new commercial for the fruity candy, which is set to air during the 2024 Super Bowl on Sunday (Feb. 11). In the 30-second ad, an animated red gummy candy steps on a stage to the tune of Irene Cara‘s “Flashdance… What a Feeling,” from the 1983 film Flashdance.

The gummy character then performs the iconic wet chair scene from the movie, but instead of water falling from the ceiling, Nerds candies pour onto the gummy, turning him into a Nerds Gummy Cluster. The scene then cuts to Rae enjoying the sweet treat on a couch.

Cara’s “Flashdance…What a Feeling” spent six weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1983, timed to the success of the film, which was the third-highest-grossing film of that year at the U.S. box office.

Strangely enough, the video not the only Super Bowl ad this year that features Cara’s Flashdance hit. Jason Momoa, Zach Braff and Donald Faison made a convincing case for T-Mobile Home Internet by putting their own spin on the classic for a commercial, which you can watch here.

During the game, the Kansas City Chiefs will face-off against the San Francisco 49ers and Usher will take the stage for the halftime show.
